Located on College next to the Rollins Group, the Virginia Avenue Housing and Dining Project is the Department of Residential Life's first major new construction project since the 1960s. Work began on MU's newest residence halls in Fall 2002. The four buildings, housing 721 students, opened in August, 2004.
The Virginia Avenue complex was featured in the 2006 edition of the Real Estate & Construction Review magazine, as was the Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center and the Student Recreation Complex.
The facility encompasses approximately 217,000 square feet, which is divided among the four residential buildings and a dining facility.
Residents of Respect, Responsibility, Discovery and Excellence halls live in one of three room types. The maintenance staff cleans the restrooms within the rooms every other week.
