In January Residential Life was notified that the College Avenue construction and Hatch Hall renovation projects will be part of the Real Estate & Construction Review magazine — 2008 St. Louis edition. The Real Estate and Construction highlights some of the most dynamic and challenging projects designed and built in the Midwest.

Hatch Hall was the first major renovation associated with the Residential Life Master Plan. Renovations began in late March 2006 and the building re-opened in Fall 2007.

  • The current building capacity of 534 was reduced to 520 students. 48 bedrooms are now accessible.
  • The existing entrance was relocated and the building lobby area modified to create a new main lounge which will serve Hatch Hall residents.
  • The main desk was relocated and expanded.
  • Mail service was relocated to the first floor of Hatch, immediately adjacent to the main desk.
  • The existing chair lift was replaced with a three stop elevator which will serve the lower and upper levels of Bingham Hall.
