Hudson/Rollins Renovation Project
The Hudson/Rollins Renovation Project will begin in February, 2009. Below are some useful facts regarding the upcoming changes.

Included in the renovation:
- Central air conditioning throughout
- New windows throughout
- New lighting and finishes throughout
- Completely renovated community restrooms
- Expansion/creation of three quiet studies on every floor (one per wing)
- Redeveloped Rollins main lounge to include a student technology lounge/computing area and the relocation of front desk and mail operations
- Elevator equipment upgrade: mechanical and new cars
- Relocation of main pedestrian access to building
- Sprinklers throughout
- New roofing
- Exterior brick work/replacing damaged exterior
- Addition of an emergency generator
Project facts:
- Construction budget is $39 million (shared with Gillett renovation).
- Previously completed upgrades to fire alarm and electrical service will be integrated into the renovation.
- This renovation project is part of Phase 3 of the Residential Life Master Plan.
- Hudson and Gillett are seven story buildings with full basements connected by the common building Rollins.
- The entire complex was constructed in 1965.
- Hudson currently houses 455 students, but this number will be reduced to a minimum of 420 students after renovations are complete.
- Student rooms will be a mixture of traditional double and single rooms.
- The number of ADA compliant bedrooms and restrooms will be increased.
- The upper level of Rollins has been recently updated by Campus Dining Services; therefore, it will not be included in this renovation project.
