Southwest Campus Housing
Dedication Timelapse Video (length: 4 minutes, 9.68MB)
This 659-bed complex is the first major new construction project within Phase II of the Residential Life Master Plan. The Southwest Campus Housing project was constructed at the intersection of Providence Road and Stadium Drive following the demolition of existing Smith, Donnelly and Blair halls. The new Southwest Campus Housing complex was completed summer 2006 and opened to students fall semester 2006.
The complex's room configurations resemble the suite-style rooms in the Virginia Avenue Housing facilities. There are 263 single spaces, divided between single rooms and four-person single suites. The remaining 396 spaces are in either double suites with living rooms, which house four students and include a separate living room, or double suites, which consist of two double rooms sharing semi-private restroom facilities. The complex does not have communal bathrooms but rather private or semi-private bathroom and shower facilities within each room or suite.
