McDavid is located on the northern part of campus and houses
approximately 156 residents. It offers the following unique amenities:
• Art studio
• Purple, the FARC Literary Magazine
• The Clay Pen, the FARC pottery
room with its own pottery wheel
• Spotlight performances, one per
month
• Art gallery, which features two student art exhibits per
month. Each exhibit includes a professional opening, reception,
and biography on the artist.
If you are interested in the Arts,
you'll want to consider the Fine Arts Residential Community (FARC).
Music, art, creative writing and theater majors find living in
FARC provides them with easier access to the facilities they need
for practicing their art. The hall is near the band/orchestra rehearsal
building and houses art studios, music practice rooms, and exhibition
space. As you live among other artists, you will develop your own
talents further and deepen your appreciation for others'. This
hall is not limited to arts-related majors, however. If you have
a sincere interest in the arts and enjoy interacting with those
who share your interest, you are welcome to apply, regardless of
your major.
