The Carver Community for Sciences and Mathematics is named for the noted educator and native Missourian Dr. George Washington Carver. Carver was an agricultural and food scientist and farmer in the early 1900s. The Carver community welcomes students from all academic levels with a variety of math- and science-related majors and interests. Faculty and students collaborate in the classroom and in the residence community to create an environment that is academically supportive of mathematics and the sciences and introduces residents to a wide range of research and career opportunities in fields such as life sciences, biology, chemistry, mathematics and computer science.
