
The American Culture & Society Learning Community helps residents relate their everyday lives to the cultures in which they live. Through shared experiences, community members learn about American perspectives of the world, work to encourage social change, become activists and celebrate the many subcultures within America. This community is ideal for students of all academic levels, especially those interested in culture, religion, sociology, politics, law, psychology and activism.

Community Goals
The Culture & Society Learning Communitys primary goal is to help residents expand their views of culture and social change through interactions with students, faculty, staff and the greater community. Participating residents will:
Freshman Interest Groups (FIGs)
The Culture & Society Learning Community also houses several
freshman interest groups (FIGs) that relate to its overall goals and objectives.
Some FIGs that have been part of this Learning Community include People
and Politics and Social Change through Music.
Please note: The nature and availability of specific FIGs may change in order
to adapt to the needs of both the Learning Community and participating
students.
