The Pangaea Learning Community

Pangaea is the theory that at one time, all continents existed as one. The theme for the Pangaea community is “one world, many people.” This community houses both international and domestic students in an environment fostering intercultural understanding, a respect for differences and foreign language conversation. The community is ideal for students who want to expand their knowledge of other languages and cultures through interaction with native speakers and participation in cultural events. Pangaea is designed for students who want to extend their knowledge of other languages and cultures outside the classroom as well as for students interested in studying abroad.

Community Goals

Pangaea is a diverse learning community in which students from different cultures can learn about and with each other. In this community, students:


Freshman Interest Groups (FIGs)

The Pangaea Learning Community also houses freshman interest groups (FIGs) that relate to its overall goals and objectives. One FIG that has been part of this Learning Community is Romance Languages.

Please note: The nature and availability of specific figs may change in order to adapt to the needs of both the Learning Community and participating students.
