
Wakonse is a word from the Lakota Indian language meaning to teach or to inspire. Wakonse residents are people-oriented, service-minded and academically-focused students who are committed to creating a fun and supportive community for residents. This community is open to undergraduate students of all majors.

Freshman Interest Groups (FIGs)
The Wakonse Learning Community also houses freshman interest groups (FIGs) that relate to its overall goals and objectives.
