What will it cost to cancel my housing contract?

If you decide not to live in an MU Residence Hall but will still attend MU (remember, all first-time college students under the age of 20 are required to live in on-campus housing per the MU Housing Policy), you should note the following cancellation fee schedule:

May 1	No cancellation fee
May 2-31	$100
June 1 - July 15	$200
July 16 - Aug. 24	$300
Aug. 19-24	Additional daily room, board and social fee charges through check-out cancellation date
beginning Aug. 25	Daily room, board and social charges plus 40 percent of remaining costs for the rest of the academic year (approximately $1,500 to $2,800)

How do I cancel my housing contract?

If you are on campus, go to 125 Jesse Hall to fill out a Request to Cancel form. If you have already checked into your assigned room, you must check out through the front desk.

If you plan to cancel before coming to campus, you need to submit, in writing, a request for cancellation of your Residence Hall Contract. If you are still enrolled, we need your intended campus address (i.e., fraternity address), your student number and student and parent signatures. You may submit this information to:

What if I'm not coming to MU?

If you are not attending MU, please send us a letter stating that you will not attend in the fall and wish to cancel your Residence Hall Contract. You must submit your request in writing, along with your student number and student signature and parent signatures to the following:
