- When can I move into my room?
-
You can move into your room after you check in at the hall/area desk. MU residence hall desks will be open for check-in beginning Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Only students participating in a specific activity or program are allowed to check in earlier. You will be given a key to your room when you check in, or, if your hall has electronic locks, you will need to validate your TigerCard at the self-service kiosk. We ask that students check in by themselves to avoid over-crowding the busy check-in area.
If you are moving into Mizzou Quads at Campus Lodge or Tiger Diggs at Campus View, the move-in location and times may vary slightly. Additional information will be provided here and on the Extended Housing Options Web site as it becomes available. - Can I come early?
-
Residents may not move into their assignments until Opening Day (Aug. 19) unless they are involved in a special program such as Greek Recruitment, Marching Mizzou, Athletics or FIGs. Students enrolled in these programs will be checked into their assignments on their designated move-in date.
- Will someone help me move into my room?
-
It's a good idea to bring helpers, such as parents, siblings and friends, with you to help the process go more smoothly. Student organizations and campus office volunteers will be available at some halls on Move-In Day to help unload vehicles and carry some items to the rooms. Dollies or carts are very helpful whenever moving in or out of the residence halls.
- Can I move some things into my room before check-in?
Due to security and logistical reasons, you will not have access to your room before you check in.
- Can I ship things to Columbia before I am scheduled to arrive?
The residence hall desks cannot accept any deliveries for you before you check in. For that reason, plan your shipping time carefully. Make sure the carrier you choose will hold your luggage or packages until you arrive.
