Requests to move within your current hall will be accepted online beginning Sept. 2. Requests to move to a different hall will be accepted online Sept. 9. Room change requests will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis if space is available. Check your residence hall bulletin board or speak with a hall staff member for more information.
- How do I get my mail?

Mail and packages are delivered daily, except Sundays and holidays, just like at home. You can pick up mail from your combination-locked mailbox located near the front desk. You may pick up your packages at the front desk or mailroom, where you will need to sign for them and present a valid student ID. Please note that mail is not distributed or forwarded when the halls are closed for academic breaks, so plan accordingly. Your mailing address is on your room assignment letter. -
All students are required to register their computers and other networked devices before they are allowed to use the network. You should be automatically routed to a registry site when you connect your computer. There you will enter your PawPrint and answer a few questions. Within 10 minutes, you should have full access to Mizzou TigerNet, the MU high-speed network. If you are not routed to the computer registry automatically, you must go to iatsact.missouri.edu/deviceregistration/deviceregistration (secure). The computer registry will assist the Division of IT with detecting and patching vulnerabilities, viruses and worms.
After registering your computer, you should go to mizzouit.missouri.edu/software/mu-ready.html and download free software to get your computer MU-Ready. MU-Ready Software helps keep computers up-to-date and secure against viruses and spyware. It includes Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition, Spybot Search & Destroy, SecureFX and more.

Learn more about MU's Energy Management program here. For more tips about sustainability at Mizzou, check out the Sustainability Office.
- Where can I do laundry?
-
Coin- and ID Charge-operated laundry rooms are available in each hall or in common buildings of each area. Charges to your ID will appear on your monthly University bill. All machines accept either ID charge or quarters. Laundry is $1.00 per load in washers and dryers with the option to add $0.25 during the drying cycle if more time is needed. At extended MU communities, washers and dryers are provided within the suite for the use of roommates.
TIP: Buy detergent that is easy to store and carry to the laundry room, such as individually wrapped, dissolvable capsules instead of large, liquid detergent bottles.

Residential Life custodial staff members clean community bathrooms daily. If you live in suite-style housing, custodial staff will clean your bathroom every two weeks. Custodians will not clean if the bathroom is excessively messy or covered in clothes or towels. Be sure to pick up after yourself throughout the day to keep the bathrooms clean and neat for all residents. Please do not "trash" the bathroom, as this creates a problem for other residents and custodial staff.
At the extended MU communities, you have the responsibility to clean your entire suite. - What if something in my room needs to be fixed?
-
If you notice that something in your room needs maintenance, stop by the front desk to submit a maintenance request, or go to the Residential Life Web site. -
While freshmen are not prohibited from bringing cars to campus, it is discouraged due to limited parking availability. First-year students do not need to bring a car because everything they need is within walking distance of the residence halls.
Metered spaces are available for public use, though students are restricted from using the visitor lot metered spaces. Limited parking is available in residence hall lots. Students need a valid permit to use a campus lot or garage parking space other than metered spaces–there is no free parking on the MU campus.
