ROAR UPDATE
MYTH: Residential Life has run out of rooms
MYTHBUSTER: Nope! Here's how it works. Have you ever gone online to select tickets to a concert? You start out by selecting a price range and location (say, balcony), and some seats show up for you. You decide you don't like those seats, so you go back and select a different price range and location; this time, it's the floor. Different seats show up for you. The number of seats you see depends on what amenities you request.
It's the same with residence hall rooms. There are lots of options within Learning Communities and Freshman Interest Groups (FIGs). However, if you say that you're not interested in FIGs or Learning Communities and instead only tell us you'd like a particular type of amenity, you aren't seeing all the options. Remember, as we've told you before, at Mizzou, the community matters so much more than the building/room type. So, roughly half of all spaces are designated as FIG or Learning Community spaces. If you bypassed Learning Communities and FIGs, you might reconsider. Find a community that will interest you and check back.
And the best part? If you've selected a room and change your mind in a week... or tomorrow... or even 30 minutes from now, you can log back into ROAR and change your assignment. You have until May 16 to move around as many times as you want. But if you're happy, stay put. You.ve got your assignment nailed down. When you've completed ROAR, you'll get a confirmation email. It's not instantaneous though– it could take up to an hour depending on online traffic. So, take some time to catch up on your favorite show – or maybe check out the latest on YouTube. Then, come back to your email.
Keep in mind– just because you don't see it immediately does not mean it doesn't exist– it just means that the amenities you requested have weeded out some options.
If you inadvertently submitted more than one contract prepayment and processing fee (each totaling $325), please be aware that you will receive a credit as soon as possible. If you paid via e-check, this payment will likely come to you in the form of a check from the cashiers office to the mailing address we have on file.
Please be patient as we resolve this situation. Our staff is focused on responding to and receiving phone calls. We are currently responding to voicemails as quickly as humanly possible; often our voicemail box fills up before we have pulled them out. Keep in mind that responses to emails are not currently happening in an expeditious manner as staff is consumed with phone calls.
Updates will be available on this web site when further information is available.

During the last month, Residential Life has been hard at work preparing Defoe and Graham Halls for renovation, and the contractor
is nearly ready to take possession of the buildings. In anticipation of this, the contractor will be putting up a fence
around the buildings within the next few weeks. This means the sidewalk between Defoe Hall and Hitt Street will no longer be
available for use. However, access to Upper Level Pershing will still be available via the accessible ramp and stairs just southeast
of Defoe Hall. In addition, Construction Services will paint a crosswalk and place signs on Hitt Street between the accessible ramp
entrance and the curb cut on the east side of the street to prevent students from having to walk in the street, maintaining a safe,
accessible route from the Pershing area to north campus.
