Tiger TreasuresWhen students move out of the residence halls, many of them leave behind items they either no longer want or aren't able to take home. Instead of throwing these items away, MU students are invited to participate in the Tiger Treasures program. Every hall will have a drop off zone available for students to donate their gently used belongings as they're packing up their rooms and getting ready to head home for the summer. Donation stations will be available between May 5 and May 17. Volunteers will collect the items, price them, and sell them at a large rummage sale in the Memorial Stadium. The rummage sale will be held at 6am - noon May 31 and all proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army. Early-bird admission to the sale is $5 and admission after 7am is free. Students can donate non-perishable food, clothes, shoes, bedding, athletic equipment, carpets, electronics, fans, light fixtures, furniture, or anything else they think someone else might be able to use. Before donating items, students should make sure they're clean (i.e. vacuum, roll, and tie carpets/rugs; wash and fold clothes/bedding) and in good working order (especially appliances and electronics).
